Growth Missions Swaziland PDF Print E-mail

G.R.O.W.T.H MISSIONS (Growing Resources for Orphans and Widows through Horticulture) was set up, in 2006, by two South Africans. The aim of the mission is to build sustainable agricultural enterprises in the impoverished communities of Swaziland.

Swaziland has the highest HIV infection rate in the world, at 26% of all adults (more in other reports). This means that about 2% of the population dies from HIV every year and that Swaziland has the lowest life expectancy, for any country, at 32 years (in 2000, it was at 61 years).*

What was needed

Having worked in the community of Embekleweni, they became increasingly aware of their need for substantial financial sponsorship and donations, in order to start the next phase of community development - specifically to fund the sinking of 3 boreholes and setting up the training facilities to sustainably grow these enterprises.

What we did (pro bono)

We worked closely with G.R.O.W.T.H Missions to really understand who they were, what they had done, what they wanted to achieve, what their vision was for the mission, and who they were targeting for their sponsorship requests. Once we had understood this, we helped them to:

  • better understand how marketing can help them to establish an identity with potential donars.
  • build a strategic marketing plan that encapsulated the next few phases of development (which includes opening up a rural medical clinic).
  • develop their branding, logo and business stationery.
  • set up the purpose, direction and structure for new website.

What they said about our work

Working in partnership with Revelation Marketing has given our organisation the focus and impetus, to meet the needs of these local communities.

Carolyn's individualised approach and insight into what our organisation actually needed, has been invaluable. She put into words what we could not vocalise. She has been able to take the ethos of our organisation and bring it to life.

We look forward to working in conjunction with Revelation Marketing on all our future marketing projects.

Ashleigh Miller, Executive Director
