- Planning your e-mail newsletters is such an important part of your marketing planning. Having a structure and themes planned out for the year, helps you to start thinking about what you're going to say way in advance, meaning you're less likely to panic the day before it is due to go out. This is the format that I use and recommend to my clients. You can have less than 4 things to talk about each month, but you shouldn't have any more than this.

- The 4P's are a traditional way to measure your marketing activities, however, there is more than 1 day to do this. The SIVA model mirrors the 4P's, but looks at it from your customers perspective. The 4C's embrasses marketing in the online social media world. Looking at your product or service from all 3 perspectives helps to bring a lot more clarity on exactly what it is you're doing.

- Great designs are often a result of great design briefs. This is the brief that we give away at the Marketing DIY workshops. The brief has been built up from our many years of briefing agencies at corporate level and a few snippets we picked up from others. You can use some or all of the headings. Remember, the more information you give a designer, the clearer they are as to what you are wanting. If it's written down, there is less chance of them forgetting.
