Madwaleni School: Underberg

This rural school is made up of 5 classes squeezed into 4 classrooms (Grade R to 4).

They have limited access to government funding. Children desperate for education, walk for miles to & from school every day.

They share a 'long drop' loo, as there is no running water. Chairs & furniture are borrowed and they have almost no books or stationery.

Our donations have helped buy stationery for the children.

Other work being done by this team, in Underberg, includes:

Local high school: where 205 grade 8 kids are crammed into 2 classrooms (102 & 103 kids per class) - sending grade 11 class on a life skills project at the local Scripture Union camp which brought about a delightful response from the kids
Distributing clothing and food to orphaned and destitute families (one valley has 60 families that are needy)
